T.G.I. Friday's Spicy Cajun Chicken Pasta from Top Secret Restaurant Recipes - Recipelink.com

T.G.I. Friday's Spicy Cajun Chicken Pasta from Top Secret Restaurant Recipes - Recipelink.com
No sense lying. I've been stuck at this recipelink site for over an hour checking out the recipe clones from famous restaurants... I liked the sound of this Cajun Chicken recipe, so thought I would share it,in case you don't have time to go to this extensive website. In the meantime I have copied and pasted a bunch of recipes onto Word Documents...now to save them and try a few someday.. I especially thought I hit the jackpot when I found the recipe for Yorks Pepermint Patties...Same company that makes the York Bites that I can't seem to find in Nelson anymore...might have to make my own. They didn't sound very complicated at all.

Did ya miss me???

Yep, I can see that summer will be a difficult time to blog every day...Too many things going on so "Bear..grrrrr with me!" I'll blog when I can!
Speaking of bears, Ann had one in her yard that destroyed her metal birdfeeder and took off with the hummingbird feeder...never to be found again.
If you happen to find a spare little red feeder in your yard, you'll know where it came from! I guess this particular bear also got into the local beehives that someone has in a near-by field and ruined a lot of hives and ate up the honey...Right out of Winnie the Pooh , I'd say.
Bad Bear...Bad Bear..Pooh...Bad

Ann came over for dinner and a hot-tub tonight. I BBQ'd some pork chops that had marinated in terriyaki, soya sauce, garlic, and lemon juice in a zip-lock bag in the fridge for most of the day..I did the veggies on the George Foreman grill and had some new potatoes that were baked in tin-foil.
All in all it was pretty tasty with a little salad .

The best new thing I did was buy some Melon Liqueur by Henkes.
No sense trying to link that to anything sensible. It is a refreshing GREEN Melon flavoured Liqueur that I had in Mexico..called a Midori there. It was mixed like a margarita with the crushed ice, and this bright green Midori Melon liqueur and perhaps tequila and lime juice...in a short glass. I'm not a huge melon fan, but this stuff was pretty delicious. I had forgotten the name Midori, but I now gather that is the most common brand name for it and when I started a google search on Melon Liqueur, I came up with a million ( well, 14,300 to be exact) sites with Melon in it and most were online liquor stores selling cheap liquor. Funny thing is, it was no cheaper than right here at Nelson's LCB. LOL!!!
My better search came when I looked for Midori Melon You can go there for the recipes. I'd say I had a sort of Midori Margarita in Mexico and just an invention today.
However,To make the long story somewhat shorter..I bought J.H. Henke's Melon Liqueur and mixed an apertif with sprite and lime and lots of ice....yum-yum! Certainly made a pretty drink( it is a striking chartreuse!)Next time I'll try crushing the ice and adding a little tokillya!
Annie liked it, so it must be good! Highly recommended for summer!
Have a good week-end everyone. I am waiting to hear from the big E. He is still fishing as far as I know...reminds me to clear some space in the freezer in case he comes with some lovely rainbows!

Happy Birthday Song to Steve...

this is an audio post - click to play

Recipes ...are all back now

Eva just phoned to say the Beer Chicken recipe wasn't there...and that prompted me to finish putting on the last of the recipes. If I have missed any others...let me know...just click on the comments and it will send me an email I think!
How is your day going?? Mine has been great...lots of production today and I even cleaned out my huge pile of magazines in the basement...put the National Geographics in date order for the past three years, sorted the remainder and decided on a pile that I could part with.I loaded up the car with magazines and recycle. I don't know how I get so much cardboard, but assure as hell, as soon as I toss all of the boxes, I'll be requiring three for some reason or other.
The doc's office said they would like some new mags so I can drop those off, on my way to the recycle at the marina.
Two ugly jobs got done - changed the furnace filter and emptied the canister to the central vac. It never ever sounds like it has much suction, and sounded more sicker than ever today.
Recalling someone's suggestion, I sent a whole bowl of dog kibble through it which may have loosened up the chunkies orclogs. Seems to be working somewhat better and all the kibble came right through into the canister...Don't worry, I won't feed it to Silky! It was old crap that she wasn't eating and had been sitting outside her dish for two days now.
I fought off a monsoon sized windstorm and specks of rain as I mowed the side lawn and the whole lower portion to the beach.I was frozen! The mower plugged up on the first section...too thick and wet, I guess. I had to empty the sleeve out( on the tractor) and when I reconnected it, I guess it wasn't exactly in right and made a hell of a THWANGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG when I started the mower thing...Of course I immmediately shut it off and figured out my mistake...
Do ya think the old boy will notice the chunk out of the plastic sleeve????... a little too close to the blade, me thinks.. It doesn't really hinder the operation any, just looks chewed up.
It was too cold out to worry about it and I finished off the lawn and headed for home and then noticed the garage door didn't close when I pushed the button...Yep, the wind must have knocked a tree down and put the power out for about an hour..MAde me happy to have a gas stove. I made a bowl of soup to warm up.

I made a decision...to rescue my planters and move them right up onto my back deck. If a bloody deer climbs up the steps I'll be eating venison chops for dinner!!!. The buggers even ate two red geraniums I had planted under the maple tree. I have now camoflauged them with a little of that Cranesbill ...a kind of spreading stinky geranium with little pink flowers that the deer don't eat. In fact, the spring edition of Gardenwise has a section on container plants for deer areas...MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE READ THE ARTICLE BEFORE THE DEER ATE MY PANSIES AND TOMATOE PLANTS
Okay gotta run... oh yes, the pics are of my dinner last night... I use my little George Foreman grill a lot when E is away...just heat it up, brush it with olive oil and load er up with veggies that you have seasoned, unless you have meat that needs to be cooked first..then do that first with the onions and garlic, then add the veggies. It holds a lot and in less than five minutes, gives it that roasty toasty flavour of a grill...because it is extremely hot and so the veggies are toasty on the outside and crunchy inside.
Last night I did aspargus, onions, red peppers, and slices of roast beef, then added tomatoe wedges at the last minute. I sauted a portabello mushroom in the frypan as it was very huge and needed a little more cooking I thought.
While it was cooking, I heated my pizza bun in the oven in tinfoil and when all was cooked, I loaded up the split bun with the portabello mushrooms, the grilled veggies and beef, sprinkled on some parmasean cheese and dined like a queen. I dipped the loose veggies in that fresh dill dressing that I made the other day... All in all it was more tasty than I thought it would be, so I may just make it again tonight... I never said I was doing low fat ,low carb recipes here! LOL. Actually the veggie and meat part were low everything...the bun...now that is another story...
BYE ...My planters are parched from the wind...I must go water them Now!

Stargazers worldwide witness Venus moving across face of sun | CP
Here is a news clip from telus about Venus...Wow! Too bad we missed it...

Recipes Back

Okay, I think I have managed to put back most of my recipes under my Linkies and Recipes column...you'll just have to scroll down through that particular week that it takes you to and find the correct date of the recipe to get to the one you are looking for.... I have another month of blogs to check, but I don't think there are too many recipes except for the cookies of the other day...Any questions, and you can give me a call or email me at Chat back( under linkies)
I finally finished sorting the wedding photos, printed some and got the whole works mailed off, so if Nadine is reading this, she should have them in a few days... as they went by Express post!
It is now 5:00 and aside from my little jaunt to sunny Balfour to mail the photos away, I have pretty much been in this room all day. Now, it is time to Mow, Mow, MOW...so off I go..
It is windy as ever out...not condusive to the obeast going outside. I'll put the ugly sweatpants on and long sleeved shirt so as to not get attacked by the spruce trees and stay warm, and in an hour I'll be looking for a cold beer, I am sure! Don't forget that at the end of each blog is a place for Comments... I like to hear from those that get their blog fix by reading my skunk tales and all...LOL!!!
Speaking of animals those *#$%%%%%####*****!&^%%% Deer had Salad for a midnight snack...chawed off every pansy in my four huge pots on our back patio. Did I mention that in each pot I had a vigorous, healthy, wonderful tomatoe plant???? DID I????
Chomped off with the rest of the pansy heads...looks like someone took a bloody chainsaw and did a massacre... so much for the plan to have four or five fat tomatoe plants at my doorstep...GRRRR and I love those deer girls, but today they INFURIATE ME!

More Wedding Photos

Since I was working on the wedding pics, I thought I 'd share a few more of the dance and of my kids...and hubby...
I am revising this blog template and have now asked Blogger Support for help, so perhaps I can get it looking right in the near future. Hang in there. I have to relink my recipes as many of the links were screwed up. I'll get it operational one of these days. I have more important things attend to like getting these wedding photos mailed away tomorrow!
My day today, was shot from the get go with the doc being a half hour late for my appointment, and then I ran into town and doodled around longer than I expected...picked up tomatoe bug dust as some little hopper guys are feasting on the already pathetic creatures. I might be heading out to Jocelyn's in the near future to buy replacement plants if these ones look any sicker! In fact if we don't start to see a little sunshine here, everything will rot itself to death in the garden...we have certainly had our bouts of rain and wind.
Mowing the lawn is on my agenda tomorrow if the weather holds out.
Also tomorrow is a special day in the skies if you lived elsewhere ( east)and could see the sky to begin with! Venus will pass in front of the sun, as will the International Space Station..with the possibility of both being in front of it at the same time, since the station will be doing a drive by at least six times in the eight hours that it takes Venus to cross the face of the sun as the planet comes between earth and the sun for the first time since 1882. Check www.spaceweather.com tomorrow later in the day for some photos .

I woke up in the night to what I at first thought was the aroma of a nice pot of coffee being brewed...then I came to my senses and had to slam the window down...some nasty SKUNK must have been very much nearly under my window, marking his territory...stinky guy!Man, the whole house Stunk! I had to go around and close several other windows. That, however does not close the fresh air intake to the furnaces which continually circulate air throught he registers...So it stunk for some time...
Did I mention that the other day I thought I heard a "trapped animal" noise coming from the basement...but when I went down to investigate, I could hear nothing but the dryer whisking the clothes around. Just on the off chance that something did fall down the chimney into the little woodstove, I carefully opened the door, and took a cautious peek- nothing except what appeared to be a dusty butterfly lying there in the bed of the stove. Just as I was about to get a closer look, a blackbird shot out the open door and landed up on E's fresh washed and dried shirts that were hung up over the dryer. Not wanting to scare the crap out of the bad black bird...I headed towards the new basement to close the door, but the smart-assed stupid bird beat me there ( flying is faster than me moving stealthily). He was good in that he didn't do poo-poo on the clean dress shirts, but now he was a total jerk.. flinging himself against every window to try to get out. I had a towel in my hand, and was about to head for the fish net, when I realized that you-no-who took it fishing with him!
On to Plan B. I opened the outside basement door and then swooshed the bird out of the new basement area.
Of course he didn't fly straight outside...He didn't even notice that I had the door wide open and instead perched on some boxes of wine bottles in E's workshop area...So he hopped and I skipped and finally the bird saw the light or smelled fresh air and flew to his freedom...I was not wanting him to head upstairs, thats for sure.
The last bird that flew into the living -room tried to impale its head on the sprayed ceiling about twelve times and left ever so many red bloodstains in blotches from the dining room to the end of the living room ceiling. I have painted over that now.
to bed...my eyes are in snooze mode.
Remind me to tell you about the Oriole I saw two days in a row...and how I was alerted to it by its unusual song.
g'night

I may have fixed it...

Bear(grrrrrrr) with me as I fool with this new template...I was having a little trouble with Links and Recipe Sidebar. I discovered it was entirely fixable in either the new template or the old...So I'll keep working at it.
Meanwhile, it was for the most part a rather windy, rainy cruppy day with a few sunny breaks...enough to get the compost emptied, the asters weeded, dill and radishes picked and cleaned. I froze a zip-loc bag of dill ! Makes me happy that I already have "one Away!". The girls like to use it through the winter also, so I try to freeze up about 5 bags. Right now it is still very short, but very frondy, and very thick, so I can continue to thin it out and freeze it over the next week or so, as it grows. I added dill to my salad dressing...very yummy, indeed.
Imanaged to get the border around our pumphouse weeded out, but not before the rain hit..a big whitey from Nelson blew in for the tenth time, and tried to defeat me for the second day in a row!
I was wet, but I did plant a few of those Kochia Childii plants that self seeded themselves by the billions in my planters last fall. One of Lynn's plants grew taller than her practically!...and I managed to save about thirty or more! Crazy eh? Well, mine sure as hell never grew as big as Lynn's, so we will see if any of them survive way out yonder, to begin with! They are also called "Burning Bush" because the fernlike foliage turns reddish with buds and then eventually the whole plant turns reddish in the fall...Interesting creatures, and good for fillers.
Okay, I have to hit the hay...I have several important things on the agenda early in the am, and I am still working on Nadine and Dick's photos..nearly got all the digital ones sorted, right-ended and red-eye repaired. Found a few funnies I overlooked before...they all went into the #3 pile!

No reproduction of photos without permission of obeast, thank-you.
